Checklist for Umrah

As you are getting ready to embark on the spiritual journey of Umrah to the Holy land of Mecca, we have created a basic checklist for Umrah that you can use while you are packing for your journey. Though it is not necessary that you carry all the items mentioned in this checklist, it is essential that you have your documents with you at all times. This packing list has been created for your convenience. You may have additional items that you may pack with you, or you can choose to leave out a few from the list below.

A Simple Checklist for Umrah are:

Documents

• Original Passport.
• Photocopies of Passport.
• Air Tickets (If you are traveling by flight).
• Hotel reservations receipts.
• Emergency Contacts.
• Shahada (If you are revert to Muslim, you may be required to produce a Shahada certificate. You can get your Shahada certificate from your local Imam.
• Relationship Certificate

Generic Must-haves for Men

• Ihram.
• Comfortable cotton clothes.
• Comfortable slippers. Carry an extra pair.
• Belt / Sling bag to carry important items.

Generic Must-haves for Women

• Abaya / Hijab
• Cotton scarves
• Abaya Cap
• Comfortable cotton clothes
• Hair ties / clips / Pins
• Comfortable slippers. Carry an extra pair.
• Sling bag to carry important items

Generic Items

• A pocket book of du’as
• Quran – A pocket Quran that is easy to carry with you at all times.
• Portable Prayer mat
• Tasbeeh
• First Aid Kit
• Prescribed medicines (if any)
• Unscented shampoo
• Unscented soap
• Hand sanitizer
• Travel size Unscented Wet wipes
• Meswak
• Pocket scissors
• Nail clipper / nail cutter
• Money pouch / purse – Carry a small pouch that can easily fit in your belt / sling bag
• Saudi Riyals
